Sylvain's Priorities

Healthcare

A healthy society starts with healthy people.

Healthcare

By making healthcare services more accessible, we are not only improving Floridians' lives, but we also contributing to the overall development of our state. Our government should strive to ensure that every citizen has access to the healthcare that they need and deserve.
>>

Education

Florida's public education system needs help.
Florida's public education system was once among of the best in the world. After almost 30 years of Republican-led disinvestment, reduced standards and politicization, our once great public education system is on its knees.
>>

Right to Choose

Every woman has a right to decide what happens with her body.
Access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including abortion, is a fundamental human right that must be protected and expanded. Our state needs leaders who will champion policies that ensure individuals have the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies, health, and futures.
>>

Cost of living

Floridians can no longer afford Florida.
From property and auto insurance, rising rents to some of the highest inflation rates in the country, Florida's cost of living crisis has come to a head, especially for those living on lower and fixed incomes while Republican leaders offer billions in bailouts and tax incentives for companies.
>>

Agriculture

"If you eat, you're involved in agriculture"
North Central Florida's agriculture is a dynamic tapestry of sustainable farming practices, diverse crops, and a dedication to environmental stewardship. Our region's farms are essential to feeding America and our government should recognize that.
>>

Public Safety

We must keep our communities safe and support those who work to keep us safe.
Ensuring public safety is a cornerstone of our community's well-being, and we should address the intertwined issues of substance abuse and mental health with compassion and pragmatism. Florida should implement evidence-based programs that offer support and treatment rather than punishment for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.
>>

Culture & the Arts

Florida is a meting pot, and our culture is a reflection of that.
Florida has a dynamic cultural landscape that honors the variety and ingenuity of its inhabitants. With globally recognized art institutions and prosperous performing arts establishments, Florida is home to a lavish assortment of artistic expression which enhances the existence of us all. We should support it.
>>

Economic Prosperity

The American Dream is attainable when the economy is strongest.
Passing impactful legislation to strengthen the success of small businesses in Florida is a crucial step towards furthering our economic prosperity. Small businesses need access to all necessary tools and resources to compete with larger corporations, and promote a level playing field.
>>

Sustainable Development

Florida's environment is too precious to destroy.
As Floridians, we have a duty to and preserve our environment for the health and well-being of all who call this state home. From combating climate change and protecting endangered species to preserving our waterways and reducing pollution, we must take bold action to protect Florida's vast ecosystem.

The story of My Logo

As a trained brain doctor, I thought it would be interesting to incorporate the brain in my logo. With a nod to artificial intelligence, the brain is a symbol of intellect and innovation and represents the core of my work. Sylvain Dore for Florida Senate, District 9Both the left and right sides show a connection that symbolizes the importance of bridging different perspectives, whether on the political spectrum, or the educational spectrum, eg linking STEM with ARTS to optimize results.

The color “gold” is based on a simple translation of my last name, Doré, which means “golden.”

One final note, throughout my campaign, you will see various representations of my dog; he is a mixed-breed rescue named YOLO (which came from my nieces, who first told me the meaning of it: You Only Live Once). For me, the notion of YOLO is a constant reminder that we should do our best and assist others every day. I feel like his mix of various breeds makes him the healthiest, most resilient, and smartest dog I have ever had!
