Meet Dr. Sylvain Doré

Sylvain Doré is a renowned brain doctor and former professor of Anesthesiology and Neuroscience at the University of Florida. Originally from Neuville, Québec, he served for thirteen years at UF, rising to the university's Board of trustees before retiring to focus on his passions for politics, real estate, and philanthropy.

As an active Democrat, Sylvain believes that with the right changes and leadership, Florida can become the safest and most affordable state in the nation. Alongside his academic pursuits, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and maintaining his mental and physical well-being. Sylvain has a particular fondness for dogs, horses, and life near the water.

His core values include democracy, freedom, and compassion for all people. Throughout his life and career, he has dedicated himself to fostering success and well-being among his colleagues and community member.

His wealth of experience, coupled with his unwavering commitment to values such as freedom and democracy, fuels his drive to seek public office. The story of My Logo

As a trained brain doctor, I thought it would be interesting to incorporate the brain in my logo. With a nod to artificial intelligence, the brain is a symbol of intellect and innovation and represents the core of my work. Sylvain Dore for Florida Senate, District 9Both the left and right sides show a connection that symbolizes the importance of bridging different perspectives, whether on the political spectrum, or the educational spectrum, eg linking STEM with ARTS to optimize results.

The color “gold” is based on a simple translation of my last name, Doré, which means “golden.”

One final note, throughout my campaign, you will see various representations of my dog; he is a mixed-breed rescue named YOLO (which came from my nieces, who first told me the meaning of it: You Only Live Once). For me, the notion of YOLO is a constant reminder that we should do our best and assist others every day. I feel like his mix of various breeds makes him the healthiest, most resilient, and smartest dog I have ever had!
